Marissa Lippert is a registered dietitian in Manhattan who helps clients lead balanced lifestyles, enjoying food while actively achieving dietary, weight, health and wellness goals. Marissa works to bring her clients back into the kitchen, making grocery shopping and cooking healthful, quick, and simply delicious. She keeps her finger on the pulse of what busy, informed individuals need and want when it comes to living and eating well.
After graduating with honors from the University of Virginia with a BA in history, Marissa decided to pursue her passion, helping others achieve a healthful lifestyle rich with flavorful food and good nutrition. Her path led her to New York University where she received her Registered Dietitian licensure and her Masters of Science in Clinical Nutrition. She has previously counseled clients and led nutrition education programming at The Gym, a boutique fitness facility in Manhattan and was the nutrition director for Mothers & Menus, an organic meal delivery service for expectant and new mothers.
Voted as one of New York’s “Best Nutritionists” by New York Citysearch, Marissa currently counsels clients through her self-owned company, Nourish, and frequently partners with Equinox Gyms, Whole Foods, Disney and other corporations to plan and promote nutrition and healthy cooking programming and seminars.
Expanding her nutrition and health expertise to the literary world, Marissa is currently writing her second book, The Cheater’s Diet, due to be published in early 2010. Her first book, the Low-Carb Diet Tracker, can be found in Barnes and Noble.
Marissa is a frequent contributor to numerous publications including The New York Times, Glamour, Women's Health, Fitness and Health. She serves on the “Eat Healthy America” expert panel for Woman’s Day magazine and writes a monthly column for Culinate.com. She has also appeared as an expert for ABC News, FOX News, and New York 1 News television programming. In addition, she speaks on a variety of nutrition topics to corporations and non-profit organizations, women’s groups and schools.
Marissa is a member of the American Dietetic Association, the Greater New York Dietetic Association and the following dietetic practice groups: Sports Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutritionists, Nutrition Entrepreneurs, Dietitians in Business and Communications, Food and Culinary Professionals, and Women's Health and Reproductive Nutrition.
Marissa lives in Manhattan and is an avid cook much to her friends' and family's delight. She makes the most of her kitchen, bringing balance and flavor to the table!
